My passion for photography
Motivation drives our force and achievements, which keeps us going. Waking up and staying motivated everyday isn’t a challenge for me; it’s the beauty in the journey for my passion for photography that pushes me. Looking through my camera lens I see a world of exploration and personal growth through each photo. This growth fuels my energy every day.
My voyage into photography started from a spark of curiosity and interest at a young age. All starting at my mom and stepfather’s wedding; after seeing the photographer I was really interested in learning photography. Me being ten I was fascinated by the number of cameras he had; at my young age I thought it was amusing. After the wedding I talked to my mom about getting my first camera. Eventually I acquired my very first camera and everything fell into place. I immediately opened the box and was eager to learn. Looking back now, I didn’t know much since I was little. Today my photos have improved exponentially because I am determined to do what I love.
Photography isn’t a hobby to me anymore; it’s part of my life since it’s a limitless art form, continuously evolving and offering room for improvement. Looking at photos of mine I think of what I can tune or tweak, building myself to self-improve next photo. Every day I strive to refine my skills by experimenting with new techniques, while expanding the boundaries of my creativity. This constant learning process is a source of motivation for me. Photography is also my refuge from chaos; such as going to a peaceful forest preserve to take pictures to calm myself. I feel harmonized with nature when looking through my view finder at birds; holding my breath to be sure of a steady shot capturing a moment of time with the birds chirping and wind blowing. After that it’s going home to indulge in my photos and edit them while time passes.
It’s not only a personal endeavor; it’s the joy of sharing my work and seeing people become inspired to go out and unlock a level of themselves that felt untouchable. I never thought my work was sought after until I shared my photos with people. I learned not to be scared to express my love for photography and my passions. A handful of my friends are involved in photography and I’m always glad to teach them new skills: Helping others is important because you benefit off each other, building stronger connections. I previously explored different areas of photography such as liminal themed compositions for my AP photo class along with nature photos; now I’m very intrigued by taking photos of cars. I attend car shows for photos and end up meeting wonderful people that share the same passion for cars and automotive photography. The positive feedback and appreciation from them push me to wanting to conquer the next level of myself. If I have the same mindset about my photography skills, I can accomplish anything I put my mind to in life.
I've been very familiar with Adobe products since 6th grade when I took a photoshop class. Now I've expanded my knowledge throughout the years of photoshop along with mastering lightroom in the past which led me to perfecting my craft. Although many people can buy a professional camera, most if not any, can produce outstanding results. It's not about the equipment, it's about the time and skill you've spent to developed your work.
Take every chance to improve and learn...
